Corporate Social Responsibility

At Partners Wealth Management (PWM), we are committed to acting responsibly across all areas of the business and wider sector.

Workplace culture

We know people work best in environments where they are free and are passionate about offering our team a culture of freedom. Our partnership structure is not just something we adopt with clients, we conduct ourselves in a culture of respect, freedom and trust, to ensure a positive working environment for all. Partners and advisers are supported, giving them a rewarding career and job satisfaction. We recognise that great ideas can come from anyone in the business, therefore, we welcome ideas from everyone as equals.

Client conduct

Our emphasis on partnership means advisers seek to build long-term client relationships. We place our clients’ needs at the centre of everything we do, guiding them through their life stages, to help them achieve their financial goals. Many of our clients come to us seeking to bring their affairs in order or are looking for impartial analysis of what they have in place thus far. Our advisers offer pure investment independence, ensuring clients are given truly unbiased financial advice.

Community and charity

We are dedicated to supporting the community and making a difference to those in need. We have chosen to support Barts Health Violence Reduction Service as our first ever charity of the year. We have been fundraising in a variety of ways (including: The Three Peaks Challenge, 105-mile cycle challenge, parachute jumping and much more) to make a real difference to the lives of young people affected by violent crime in London. Knife crime is an increasing problem and we are eager to help Barts VHS in their endeavours to help stab victims not to return to the culture of violence.

The environment

Protecting the environment is a cause close to the team here at PWM. We were recognised as ‘Green Advisers’ by The Times in June 2019, for our drive to help clients orientate their pensions and portfolios to sustainable investments. After we were oversubscribed at our recent Sustainable Investing seminar, we have collated a panel of the best managers in this space, and are helping clients ensure that the long-term capital in their pensions is invested in assets that support long-term sustainability.

With plastic pollution an increasing global issue, we are keen to help where possible. No single-use bottles are provided to clients, and instead we have purchased branded, refillable glass ones. Recycling points can be found across our office that people are actively encouraged to use.

We take responsibility for our energy usage by turning off lights and equipment outside of office hours.

The next generation

Preparing the next generation for their future is something we are hugely engaged with at PWM. Young people need trustworthy, reputable advice to follow when making all-important decisions about their money, and when they are considering their future careers. We ran an Introduction to Finance course. It was initially offered to 12 individuals but, due to overwhelming levels of interest, more than 30 students were in attendance. We set out to equip these individuals with the basics of financial planning and investment, and to provide an overview of careers paths in the City. Members of our rapidly expanding team delivered a successful programme of presentations on topics which included: how UK tax works, types of investment, life money skills (student debt, how to get on the housing ladder, budgets and clever long-term saving), financial crime and sustainable investing.

Our Managing Partner, James Roberts regularly speaks at next generation events supporting the development of younger advisers and explaining how PWM built and developed our academy.

Industry affiliation

James Roberts, sits on the Benchmark adviser panel which helps develop client-facing technology. The input from PWM was crucial to the early development of model DFM, on the platform, and more recently has built the first example of a Bespoke Discretionary Manager, building tailored portfolios for clients on the intermediaries’ platform.

James is also actively involved in Strategic Coach, a business course that brings entrepreneurial values and approach to businesses in the industry.

Across the firm, we are active supporters of industry bodies with partners holding memberships with organisations such as: CII, CISI, STEP, FEIFA and CFA.

We have provided interviews and articles for industry publications, such as New Model Adviser and individual advisers have also been invited to participate in a roundtable discussion by Intelligent Partnership, for their Business Relief Report and their Enterprise Investment Scheme Report.

Responsibility

We appreciate the importance of policies and procedures and ensure that our documentation remains compliant and up to date.

We respect the views of our team and encourage ideas to shape the future of our business.
